From the red carpet to rehab, Morgan Carter finds herself taking a liking to the traditional values. The performances were great, and the niece and aunt actually resembled each other. There was a heart-warming and endearing quality to this film. Now, both Morgan and Trudy have a positive effect on one another as Trudy plans to apply for medical school and complete the degree she never finished. Trudy had a nasty divorce in which her husband ran away with the dog trainer who took the dog as well. The influence of the aunt is especially important. In a funky house, Morgan adjusts to conventional life and attends Hillhaven High School where she is treated abominably as "the new girl." But she makes good friends in Emily and her brother Eli, shops at a discount store, and attends the fair. It is not boot camp, but closer to Our Town. As if placed in a witness protection program, Morgan assumes the alias of Claudia Miller and resides with her Aunt Trudy. Her mother and manager pack her off to Fort Wayne, Indiana for a rehabilitation stint in real life. Reality tv star Morgan Carter has a meltdown and a drinking problem that threatens her career in Hollywood. "True Confessions" was a heartfelt drama of a young reality television star who is transformed by wholesome American values in the heartland. All and all, this film is topical, timely and well worth the effort of all involved including the viewer. Fellow student Eli is also very well portrayed in this film. Valerie Bertinelli is also very good here as a wizened aunt who helps to straighten the misfit starlet out. I would hope to see more of her in film in the very near future. As most are aware, she is already a star in the recording industry and she has stated that is her primary focus. Being only 17, a bright future is in front of her as an actress if she wants it. In this film, and Aquamarine, she has a very watchable and likable presence. This is the first lead role for Joanne "JoJo" Levesque and I would respectfully suggest that she serves notice here that she will be a major force as an actress in the very near future. This movie really picks up as she integrates into her new school environment. Wayne, Indiana, to go to high school, dry out, and learn some values. A drunk and out of control, young Hollywood actress is sent by her family and agent to Ft. And she moved in with her pseudo-aunt and she’s like, “Wow, maybe I am not as cool as I thought it was. This is a really good made for TV movie which has recently made its debut on Lifetime. And then she was obviously taken back down to earth. And I think that she had this feeling of infallibility. I think when you feel you are in a position of power, you get this confidence that nothing can touch you. GL: I feel like Morgan was able to stand up for herself and say things most people only wish they could say in the moment. And I was going through probably the worst time in my life with my skin, which is a really stressful experience for a 16 year old girl. I actually had a bit of a point where I totally freaked out because I was so absolutely stressed, because not only was I doing school at that time and I did at least five hours a day, and then I shot. GL: You were in practically every single scene. I live in Massachusetts I have been finishing my high school here and working on my new album and stuff. I’m very close with my mom and, you know, she was just caught up in the negative aspect of Hollywood that I am not really involved with. Her relationship with her mother couldn’t be more different from mine. I think the way she handles situations and the way she acted out is quite different from the way I handle things. GL: Probably the only real similarity is that you have been in the public eye before and so has Morgan. And fun with the outfits and, you know, something new. So I had a good time with it and I was in between albums and I figured lets give it a shot. So I felt that that would be something fun to play with and a very different, very different, role from myself to undertake. JoJo: It really couldn’t be more from who I am. Girls’ Life got a sneak peak at True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet, and it’s not to be missed (it airs Saturday, August 9 at 9 pm on Lifetime). Joanna Levesque, aka JoJo, stars as Morgan, an out-of-control actress who moves to Middle-of-nowhereville to be a normal girl and get out of the spotlight.
